I'm currently working on a pattern from Nola that has a basset hound with swirling leaves around it. I'm changing up the pattern to make it go with the colors in my dog, Cleopatra.I'm trying to use up a lot of my wools that I already have, so I'm trying to be creative with my color choices. The shadowing on her legs is using a "spring background" spot dye that I did a while back.I'm trying to use lots of blacks, dark purples, dark greens and even some dark reds for her black....hoping to give her some irridescense....like her shiny coat. I'm using various textures in her face. And trying to take pictures with her adopted brother Lonnie lying on my feet :)It's raining here today, so looks like a good hooking day.
Go forth and be creative,
Tammy
You go girl!!! Thanks for jumping right in to the WIP blog! That is a great pattern and I love how your dog is supervising the progress!

You are off to an awesome start! I love your use of colors & textures. Reminds me that I need to remember ALL colors are in nature and should be worked with that way. You always do such wonderful works, Miss Tammy!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be so interesting to see Cleopatra come to life. I love the different wools you're using.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun rug.I hope to hook my cat this year.

I am brand new to this group tonight. Sunnie in Vermont suggested I check it out. I really like the format and LOVE seeing how the rugs progress. As soon as I figure out how to download pictures onto my brand new blog from my Picasa Program I will post some photos of 2 rugs I documented while working on them. I love keeping a history of what I have finished.
